I was in Udaipur end January and it was very cold
-1degree. But the days were very pleasant with clear skies (great for photography). We went to Kumbalgarh fort (must see)and the breeze on the top nearly blew us away. There was a lot of haze and so we could not see far across the hills. Maybe November or December may be less cold.

I have been to Udaipur in the winter months on three occasions, and it is an excellent time to travel there. On every occasion the lakes have had adequate water, and the air has been clear, and skies sunny. This means pleasant warm days, but cool evenings, sometimes even cold evenings. So yes, take a warm sweater and even a jacket! I have also been there in August when it was too humid and hot for my taste! I think that hotel prices may be a bit higher in the winter, so check this out if you plan to stay in a hotel...

Udaipur is pleasant during day time in winters. It is cold during nights - particularly early morning.

Carry woollens with you.

For sight seeing in Udaipur city - start after 9 am and try finishing by max 6.00pm. Near Lakes, after evening, it is more cold.

Visit Chittorgarh, Nathdwara, Haldighati during day time only, particularly if you are taking your kids with you.

Wish you memorable holidays.

I was in Udaipur in the winter of 2008 and specifically on Diwali Day . If you are from a Big Town the Diwali celebrations at Bapu Bazar are a treat and a alice in wonderland experience .

Its a huge ocean of traditionally dressed Rajasthani families celebrating the festival .
