Udaipur - The City of Lakes
or Venice of the East
- a very good choice to spend your holidays.... Just plan the no. of days - which I suggest 3N/4D would be fine...
Mount Abu - around 180 Kms now connected by Four Lane Highway till Abu Road is now a very comfortable Journey... but while travelling to Abu, be sure to visit Ranakpur
- Kumbhalgarh (80 Kms), Haldighati (40 Kms), Nathdwara (50 Kms), Ekling Ji & Saas Bahu Temples (28 Kms, enroute Nathdwara)[These three can be covered in one full day excursion>, Chittaurgarh Fort (100 Kms/half day excursion), Ranakpur (90 Kms, enroute Abu)
Udaipur Local Sightseeing -
City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Lake Pichola, Saheliyon Ki Bari & evening Light & Sound Show at City Palace, Lake Pichola, Sajjangarh, Maharana Pratap Smarak, Lok kala Mandal, Drive Past Fatehsagar Lake, Nehru Garden.....
I hope the above information would help in planning ur Itinerary.
Udaipur will be crowded in December and hence early booking is advised. 2 nights 3 days is sufficient for Udaipur. When traveling to Mt Abu, remember to travel during day time. AVOID traveling on this route at night as this route is notorious. 2 nights is sufficient for Mt Abu. There is nothing much you can do over.Report Abuse
As suggested, 3-4 days at Udaipur is enough. You should visit the City Palace (Lake Palace too, if budget permits, is a 5-star Taj Hotel now), Saheliyon-ki-Bari (a garden), Nehru Garden (in the middle of Fateh Sager Lake), etc. More details at http://wikitravel.org/en/Udaipur. Do visit Natraj Restaurant in Bapu Bazar for Thali meal. Udaipur is good for shopping handicrafts and leather items.
I took a day trip to Mount Abu (about 185kms from Udaipur). There you can visit the Nakki Lake, Dilwara Temple and headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris'.Report Abuse
It is sufficient to allocate 2 days to Mount Abu. It is a place which is less about sightseeing and more about relaxation. You will need 3-4 days for Udaipur. But Udaipur is an expensive place. Keep that in mind. Go for day tours to Haldighati, Ranakpur etcReport Abuse
