Hi, Ganga Sagar is an island in the Bay of Bengal approximately 150 km from Kolkata. You can reach Kolkata by air or by rail. Seldah - Rajdhani (Dep 4:30 pm & Arr 10:15 am), NDelhi-Howrah Express (Dep 7 am & Arr. 6 am) are two convenient trains, there must be more check Indian Railways or http://www.makemytrip.com/railways/ for other options. Once you reach Kolkata, you may stay for the night there. Visit Howarah Bridge, Vicotria Memorial, Ferry ride on Hoogly, and other places of tourist interest in the day.
The hotel you'll be staying at may help you organise your trip to Gangasagar. Hire a taxi or go by bus to Namkhana (105 km), Namkhana to Chemaguri by launch across the Muriganga. From Chemaguri to Gangasagar (10 km) by bus/car. All the best!Report Abuse
