Hi, Ganga Sagar is an island in the Bay of Bengal approximately 150 km from Kolkata. You can reach Kolkata by air or by rail. Seldah - Rajdhani (Dep 4:30 pm & Arr 10:15 am), NDelhi-Howrah Express (Dep 7 am & Arr. 6 am) are two convenient trains, there must be more check Indian Railways or http://www.makemytrip.com/railways/ for other options. Once you reach Kolkata, you may stay for the night there. Visit Howarah Bridge, Vicotria Memorial, Ferry ride on Hoogly, and other places of tourist interest in the day.

The hotel you'll be staying at may help you organise your trip to Gangasagar. Hire a taxi or go by bus to Namkhana (105 km), Namkhana to Chemaguri by launch across the Muriganga. From Chemaguri to Gangasagar (10 km) by bus/car. All the best!

Hi, as Bob suggested, you have to reach Kolkata to visit Gangasagar. You may hire a car or take a bus to Namkhana from where you have take boat/launch to reach the island. The journey from Kolkata should take 3-4 hours approximately. All the best!

Hello Vikas...you need to travel to Kolkata and then to Ganga Sagar (105 km)from there. It is an island, which sees a lot activity as the Makar Sankarti nears in Jan.
