Pondicherry in Pondicherry
Pondicherry is one town where there is a holiday for every budget. Staying at the Auroville is a very rejuvenating experience, and comes quite cheap too. However, if it is pampering and first class treatment you are looking for then you must try the heritage hotels in the french part of the town. Le Dupliex and the Neemrana hotel is especially beautiful if you can afford them. You would be charged in USD, unless booking through an Indian agent. All the hotels in Pondy French town offer Ayurvedic treatments. There are some private Ayurvedic clinics too, you might need to check out how hygienic they are though. I have stayed at The Promenade too, which is a contemporary boutique hotel right on the beach. The beach facing rooms are almost always booked out so you might need to book well in advance. I will definitely recommend staying in the French part of Pondy because otherwise it is just like staying in some nondescript Indian city complete with the pollution and all the commotion.EnjoyReport Abuse
If you wish to try a luxury hotel, there is Ananda Inn and Hotel Annamalai. They are expensive . For the meduim budget we stayed at Aurodhan Hotel . Budget accomodation is available at Aurobindo ashram and at Auroville. Have a Nice Time Report Abuse
Hi Shogun. Rishikesh, Kerala, Kumarakom are famous for ayurvedic & yoga treatments. These places have various set ups from small to huge scale and offer accomodation as well. Some would have only day ayurvedic spas which might not have stay option.
I don't know exactly where would it be easier for you to travel, so suggested some prominent places. See if it helpsReport Abuse
Place to stay....depends on your budget. You have the chioce of Heritage Hotel like Le Dupleix, you have 5 star hotel on the sea like the one from Hidesign like Promenade...then you have budget accomodation provide by the Arovinda Ashram. You have to live a spartan living there....sans non-veg food an alchohol. If that's fine with you then probably Park Guest house is the best.
Ayurvedic Medicine....I have no idea. Probably the front office guy in the Ashram Guest house can guide you about an authentic place.
