Saputara at an altitude of about 875 meters is a scenic hill resort situated in Dang district of Gujarat. Saputara literally means ‘the abode of serpents’. Legend has it that Lord Rama spent 11 years of his exile in these very forests. This thickly forested destination offers scenic views and has a number of breathtaking waterfalls.

The town has an image of a serpent on the banks of the river Sarpganga which is worshipped by tribals, who come here on festival days like Holi and Vash Darash.

Situated on the second highest plateau of the Sahyadris, this destination is fast becoming a favourite getaway for the urban population for its cool climate throughout the year. Saputara is at its glory during the monsoons with waterfalls embracing the hill resort adding to its beautiful green environs.

Saputara’s beauty is best experienced during the monsoons from mid-March to mid-November. Saputara has been developed as a planned hill resort with hotels and resorts, some of them are: Toran Hill Resort, Vaity Ropeway Resort, Shilpi Hill Resort, Chitrakoot Hotel, Savshanti Lake Resort Hotel and Hilltop Hotel. The resorts are equipped with adventure sports facilities like paragliding.
