Recommended food & restaurants in Jaipur

Last Updated: 29 Nov 2010 7 Contributors

Once in Jaipur, you have to try out the famed Rajasthani cuisine and street food. Start with the dish that has come to epitomize Rajasthan – daal, baati and churma – and work your way to Ker sangri, the national dish of Rajasthan. Do not forget to bring your sweet tooth along. After all, most of the fun of eating in Jaipur is wandering the streets of Old City and gorging on delicacies like ghewar, mawa kachori, jalebi and the spicy mirchi bada.

Rajasthan has to come to specialize in a certain kind of village themed restaurant and Choki Dhani (on the outskirts of the city) is the best among them. For a true royal experience, dine at the roof top restaurant at Amer Fort. It is managed by the King’s own khansama and serves dishes which were the favourites of the royal family.
