Tawang is one of the westernmost districts of Arunachal Pradesh and shares its borders with the state of Assam. Till the state was opened up for tourism, the land had remained a mystery for outsiders. Advice from travelers on what to do in Tawang

piyush jain on 19 Oct 2010

My recent trip during the Durga Puja vacation in Kolkata was to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. I was travelling with my parents and siblings. The journey itself from guwahati to tawang is so thrilling and full of natural scenic beauty which cant be described in words and just need to be experienced. There are lot of historical and scenic places one passes through while on way to tawang. Places like Bumla, Jaswanth Garh, Sela Pass, Bomdila, Dirang just win your heart over and over again. An army quote rightly describes 'Visit Bumla forget Simla'. The only let down is the roads in Arunachal, they are the worst I have ever experienced in many years of travel in India. For detailed information please visit my blog which contains a Tawang travel log. And please do visit Tawang. http://tryingmymind.blogspot.com/2010/10/trip-to-tawang-arunachal-pradesh.html
